The idea of FOMO, I think existed obviously, years before, but it’s been heightened a lot since the internet, because now you see it in real time, what you’re actually missing out on.
We’ve all been there where you don’t wanna commit to a plan because you’re worried something better is going to come along. And that premise has followed us into the dating world, into our little neuron brains so deep, that is actually preventing you from finding this partnership that you’re going to have.
You don’t really realize it, it’s really subtle, but yes there are lots of people in the world and yes, you should explore and not chain yourself to just one person and really understand who it is you are and who it is you’re interested in.
At the same time, that doesn’t mean the person you are meant to be with is going to feel that aha moment, well to a degree they will, but there’s a balance.
As far as expectations, whether you’ve had a crappy date, scary dates, bad dates, boring dates, or you’re like petrified to go out on dates because you are convinced you’re going to be the worst date or it’s going to be the worst date.
I think it’s important for you to see other people who are in the same shoes as you. Which is everybody else, by the way. it’s important for you to see these stories. We’re going to share these stories. We’re going to have fun doing it, and hopefully, you get to meet some other really awesome, fabulous weirdos like us and like yourself that you can connect with and hang out with.
